Did you change your mind after seeing the 1199?
Just got back from the bike show. Wow, seeing the 1199 in person makes a huge difference.
Unfortunately all they had was an 1199S, no base to have a good look at.
I'm seriously thinking about changing my order from the 848evo SE to an 1199 base with ABS.
It's gonna be $4000 more....thoughts? Gah!

It's a $4,000 decision though. I could get the 848, Termis, a new Ducati Arai helmet and still have money left over.
It's tough.....both have pros and cons. I could afford to get the 1199 base with ABS, but 1199S is out of the question according to the CFO (wife.)

I say do it. You're going to be taking a cruise and a 1199 is going to roll up next to you. Then you'll wish you spent the 4k. New year, new Panigale. I say go!

Haha interesting way of looking at it I guess. The 848EVO SE was right next to the 1199 at the show, and it just looked like old news.

Unless it's a 916 chassis or one of the older Ducati bikes, the more current unit's will start to look dated before they become classic. That 1199 is as modern as it's going to get for a very long while. But by no means do I think the 848/1098/1198 bikes look dated. Just make sure you'll be purely happy with your purchase.

$4000 is not that much in the whole scheme of things. If it is you should be buying a used 848. I would opt for the 1199 and sounds like you've made up your mind already.
If you are going to keep your ride for the next 4 years it's only $1000 per year. hahahah think about the smile you will have on ur face everytime you open your garage door.
