999 Mirror Removal

Hi All;

I'm new to the 999 and am trying to get the mirrors off to remove the upper fairing. Is the "screw" just a regular hex screw? If so anyone know the size? Also, how do you release the clips on those pins?

Thanks for the help.

Joe

Pull the rubber plugs, unfurl and unplug the wires, remove the 3mm hex head screw and pull.

Humm mine are small allens. Be sure and grease them and not over tighten as they are brass, well at least on a MY06 999S. Also check them ever so often. Glad you got them off OK.

I wiped a little bit of Threebond around the threads....then installed each screw. The Threebond dries rubbery and keeps the screw from wiggling free. I guess you could use Loctite blue also....but the 3-Bond stays on the threads so you don't need to reapply..
