Opinions on selling a 999
I will be selling my Black 2005 999 Bip with about 5k miles this spring.
I have done 4 track days on it while keeping in shape for the racing team I ran with in Texas. It is safety wired and I have all the necessary track stuff for it. Rearsets, clipons, fairing stay, frame sliders, sharkskins.., some other stuff I think.
I am the original owner with all OEM parts and maint records.
Should I sell it as a complete street/track day package? Or...
Should I sell it as street only (safety wired) and part off the track stuff?
Should I sell it with the Dunlop DOT's that I ran last or put new rubber on it?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts on the situation.

How much do you want for it?
If I were you I would return it stock and sell it as is. I wouldn't even bother with the tires, but a good buyer will use it as a price negotiating point.
Sell all your track stuff on this forum or ebay.
That is what I would do, but others may have better ideas/reasons.

Not sure where to begin on that one. Probably as I get it polished up and put back to OEM I'll have a different opinion of price than what I might feel like its worth now.

well i'm serious about wanting a track bike, and getting one that's track-ready would save me a bunch of time, work, and money...but in the end it all depends on the price. so how much are you thinking? you may want to send PMs instead, otherwise the moderators might lock your thread for being in the wrong spot (technically this should be in the classified section)

Aviapan, You're right, I PM you in a bit what I have on the bike.
I wasn't planning on doing anything until spring - March and was merely after thoughts on packaging vs separating and market impressions.

My opinion on selling a "motorcycle" is; if you sell it with the aftermarket parts it doesn't really increase value too much, rather helps it sell quicker. If you want the most money for it and don't mind it taking a little more time and effort, then you should return it to stock and sell it that way, and sell the aftermarket parts separately. Just my .02

For price I should have been more specific. I meant what are your reasons for selling it? For example. My 916/996 runs like a fine machine, it has cosmetic issues. I am willing to let it go for a lower price because I am making money on the vehicle no matter what.
However, if I was tight on cash I would address the cosmetics and sell it for 1-1.4k more. For me, when I sell it, how I sell it is conditional.
I'm buying another 996 within a month. I will want the quick-change carrier, corbin seat, and eprom off my bike before I sell it. And guess what, I'm putting stock everything back where it was and it won't make hardly any difference in selling price.
I really meant to ask a lot more "why" in the first post and see if you are getting another 999 or 749 in the future. If so, there are somethings to consider.
