DDA application for MacOS (plus source code)
For a couple of years now (when time has permitted) I have occasionally been working on an application that allows the DDA to function with MacOS and additionally offers a feew more features than the Prosa application included with the DDA.
With the release of the Panigale, there is a new DDA system and it is supported on MacOS (I'll look into this later - hopefully someone can send me some files).
Anyway I developed my application to the point where it has the following elements:
The Good -
Read DDA dongle (4MB version only)
Load DDA files from disc / memory stick
Display the DDA data
Add and cancel lap markers
Export the DDA info to a the file for incorporation into other software (such as GPS tracker or video).
The bad -
The application was never released into the wild, so there are no instructions - it is intuitive though. I never got a Mac to successfully connect to a 2MB DDA (2007 and 2008 bikes).
On another level, I never got to experiment with enough DDA dongles to really stress test the DDA communications with the Mac (to my satisfaction) - it does appear to work though.
Other Notes:
I never received any assistance from Prosa or Ducati (I did ask) so everything is based my own observations and deductions; however because I've never had access to the original specifications, I cannot be sure that I am right in all cases.
Final Bit
Attached is my fourth revision Beta along with the source code (in Objective-C), now that it is in the public domain, downloading it means that you accept that it is supplied "as is" and is to be installed, used and / or modified entirely at your own risk. The code cannot be used for and commercial purposes (without my prior permission) and I request that any improvements are communicated back to me - especially if it involves getting the knowledge base improved.
