'00 748 with no spark

My 748 has no spark. I bought this bike as a project. There may be something obvious that I'm missing, like a loose wire or a connector. Any hints would be appreciated. thanks.

Do all the other things work when you try to start it ?
fuel pump runs then shuts off when ignition is turned on ?
side stand switch ?
Kill switch on handle bar ?
Plug from ignition pick up sensor ?
just a few things to be looking at.

Yes, the fuel pump primes, the starter engages and turns the engine over. There is no sidestand switch. It seems as though someone connected it to itself. Plug from the pickup sensor is connected. Handlebar kill switch is open. It wont start when it;s closed.

I went home for lunch today. I left the battery on the charger (it was at 70%. Now I have spark! Apparently the older CPUs need alot of power to deliver a spark. Lesson learned.

I had the same issue on a bad battery on my 916. I did have to purchase a new battery. I'm glad it worked out for you. I know the joy of an easy fix and concern.
