What's a 1098r motor worth
Im just curious on what a 1098r motor with 2k miles is worth these days? I picked one up a few years ago for a 998 conversion, but have had little time to complete and am thinking of selling.
Thanks

It's only worth about 5 bucks at this time. Consider it sold, to ME.
Most 1098 motors are selling in the 2K range, not sure what an R would rake in, but guessing, I'd say an easy $3000-$4000???

Its all up to whos selling it and finding the right buyer, oldest rule in the trading book.
Its a nice engine and I have mapped one that the owner had for €3500.
If youre asking what to put in the ad, how urgent are you? and back to the same rule sort of
Since 1198's beat them up to 9300 in power I personally wouldnt consider it over 5k €.

Seriously? I remember a bunch of fresh 1098RS motors being sold off for 10.5k/obo from the Pegram racing team. For the money, I'd rather have one of those. Practical? Not a chance, but most of us have that kinda problem around here...

A bone stock low mileage engine will be worth more to the " general public" then a all build up RS motor.
If I would need one, I be going to the stock engine , they are just way to expensive to fix if they blow.........
If you want a bad ass race bike then the RS motors are the way to go.

3 to 9k...that's a pretty good spread. Maybe you should just list it on ebay and see what it brings. That'd be your answer. If you haven't sold it already, that is.
