What happens

What happens if you take the mufflers off and turn the bike on? I would still have the headers and exhaust system up to where the mufflers go. This is on a 1098 engine. I'm not going to ride the bike, I just need the engine to warm up for 2 mins or so.

2 minutes with no mufflers will be unreasonably loud. Without ear protection you will need to leave the garage. Not recommended if you have any kind of relationship with your neighbors. Pro garages really try to avoid ever doing this, way too loud.

As above it will be very loud.

I don't know where the join is on the 1098 but on a 916 if you remove the mufflers then the exhaust outlet is just below the right side of the seat and vertical, so if you sit on it whilst it's running you'll burn your leg and roast your nuts...

Yeah I dont plan on running it for long without the cans, I just need the engine to warm up. I'll be wearing hearing protection. At most I'll have it running for a few mins. Thanks!
