Carbon fiber
I've been looking to replace some of my black plastic parts with carbon and was curious if anybody has used anything from tekarbon?

looks very cheap, if you want cheap c/f might be worth a try, alot of the cheap chinese stuff is wet lay over fibre glass, pretty heavy but it can look nice.

Carbon
I have a 1098 and have looked at alot of cf, I saw the tekarbon is made in California and doesn't look bad from pics on the website. I def want a real made correct cf but $350 for a set of airduct covers is nutz. Tekarbon seems priced more reasonable, I guess just like anybody when it's something that small and plastic looking for bang for the buck!

yeah carbon fiber is ridiculously expensive. it's still fairly new technology. for example an exhaust cover out of CF (the little triangular piece that goes on the right side) is about $200! i'll probably start with a front fender because that's the first piece of CF that i'd like to add to my bike so i'll get a feel for the Tekarbon then and i'll see if it's worth it or not.

There is a German company that has really high quality carbon and price is just right. I got a few parts from them. I forgot the name you'll have to google it.

Was it Ilmberger? Ilmberger
Another German company that make high quality carbon parts is Lieb-Speed:
Lieb-Speed.de
Shift-Tech carries Lieb-Speed parts and Guido is great to work with and has already dealt with the import fees etc (for those of us in the USA).
Guido also gives members of this forum a discount, ask him about it:
Shift-Tech

I've been dealing with Shift-Tech for awhile, and Guido gets a lot of his carbon from Lieb-Speed, which is really nicely done and thin. He discounts 10% and ships free to members here. Most pieces are in stock, and a few have to be special ordered and take a couple of weeks.
