Ohlins Fork Rebuild Kits

Does anyone know of a good shop to purchase seal/bushing rebuild kits for a 1098S? Looking to price them on my own instead of going through the stealership... I was quoted high 300's low 400's to have the service done including parts.

That's not that bad of a price. Figure an hour to pull the legs, 30ish minutes per leg then put them back in. 3ish hours labor. The Ohlins fluid is not cheap. Do you need bushings? Normally just a fluid change, maybe seals.

I just bought everything to do my first oil change on my Ohlins and it cost me about 250-300.The Ohlins socket to remove the top cap is about 100bucks then you need away to set the oil level. I used to use a vacuum bleeder and a piece of brake line. I just bought the Racetech tool which is very nice on but its 125ish. Again the fluid isn't cheap, I think it was 30bucks a liter, I bought two. I raised the oil level and wanted to flush out the valving.

I bought all my parts and tools through my dealer. It may be hard to find parts else were, they are only suppose to be service at an Ohlins service center. I've never tried though so don't go by me.

To replace the seals and change the fork oil that is probably about right (2 - 3 hours of labour and roughly $100 of parts).

I bought my parts directly from Ohlins and they are not cheap - my Ducati supplier was quite honest; he said that his source was from Ohlins and then he'd apply a markup before on-selling to me.

For the fork cap tool, a genuine OEM Aprilia part seems to be about the cheapest I could find.

Sounds good. I figured the dealer was putting a rather large mark up on the parts/fluids. So I thought I would go around them by buying it my self. Sounds like it might be more of a pain in the ass than anything. Probably just take it in to them and have them do it then.

Graig,

I bought my Ohlins parts from Suspension Developments in Victoria (03)9587 1466.

I ordered the stuff over the phone and received it a day or two later. No issues with the transaction.
