Hey guys this is my first post here...
Just got a chinese fairing set and have a few questions for the learned bretheren here.
the plan is to build a 916 from the ground up, money pit here I come..
so first off I got a monopostal seat but the tail fairing was drilled for bipostal at the back... so it got drilled and not after a bit of persuasion fits.
Just got the front seat hinge from Germany and a Chinese LED tailight off Ebay.. next question how is the rear lock bracket fixed to the actual faring?? have the chinks missed something again?
Also I hear about UK american etc headlights ...is this just what light is on or are they different shapes? I say this because I'm just about to buy a headlight set from the Netherlands and f-knows what the Chinese based their moulds on.. any help appreciated.

Umm, a little bit more information would be good.
So is the subframe a biposto or monoposto subframe?? What are you trying to fit it on? You have a biposto seat pad, that much is obvious but I don't know if you always had that, if it came with the bike you are trying to build-up, or whether it was a one-off ebay purchase that you hoped would make a happy marriage with your newly acquired seat unit.
I suspect that the seat unit (from your photos) does not have the appropriate holes tapped to support the brackets for mounting the seat or the tail light. But that is just as much your fault for buying something without doing your research first.
Have a look at 2002 748 Biposto to Monoposto Conversion....Can I get a definative answer? to get a look at the type of brackets you would need if your seat unit had been tapped to deal with it. Whether it could be tapped?? Not a question I can answer.
As for the headlight, carlchurchill is correct they are all the same shape, but since the forum has no idea where you are from how would we be able to advise if one from the Netherlands is what you require?? It all has to do with what side of the road you drive on.
BTW It was more than a lot mean and more than a bit disrespectful to call the Chinese, chinks.
The search engine here is your friend.

Yeah, you run into a know problem with these Chinese fairings, which can be solved in several ways.
No problem to share how I did it, but should aprpeciate a 'slight' modification on your tone-setting in your intro first.

There are no inserts or any type of hole in the rear. It will be going on a mono ally subframe.

Ok First of all apologies to our Sino friends

I had the exact sam eproblem when I bought some cheap ass fairings. I am at work right now and will replay in greater depth this evening when I get home. But it involved, plastic-weld epoxy, fiberglass matting, fender washers, nuts, solder and a dab of green paint.
