Will the 2000 R1 throttle Tube work on a 2009 1198??
I'm looking to shorten my throttle twist (Quick Turn Throttle), I have read the threads about it and looks like a 00 R1 tube is the best answer? I would like to hear from you about it working or if there is a better way (Different year, better kit)? The more suggestions the better, just want to do it right the first time. Not in any big hurry,
Thanks, McFly.

I used R1 tube 4YR-26240-02-00 on my 848 evo.
Easy, cheap mod....
Not a massive difference, but enough to go from zero to hero in one twist.

Thank you very much,
McFly.

Don't expect a quick action: it is definitely not. But on my 999 it removed 5-10 degrees, which makes it more of normal throttle...

I do recommend it. I certainly am not breaking my wrist anymore to go WOT.
If you want more, get an R6 throttle tube. But that's damn near an on/off switch.
Regardless, the throttle tube mod is probably the cheapest best mod you can make. For me, feels like the bike went up +2 in the rear sprocket.
But you also get a grip.....so....while you're at it.....
Ditch the concrete grips. Get a soft grip, one with a foam/gel on it. That will cure wrist numbness and soreness.

No probs...
The other great thing about this mod (at least on my bike) it completely did away with all the throttle slack - which I hate!
As someone said it only takes a bit of the turn out, but IMO enough, I didn't want on/off!
Good luck.

I've been tossing up between this and putting the DP quick throttle kit on the bike.. I already bought the DP kit but I haven't fitted it yet as I don't want an on/off throttle but I do want to be able to do WOT in one turn of the wrist unlike the factory throttle which is a fair way off that... thoughts?

Never tried the DP one, so can't really comment. Does it come with a selection of tubes?
The R1 tube is a s cheap as chips, so worth a punt IMO.

Put an R1 throttle tube on last night but its about 1/2" shorter than the OEM leaving said amount of "extra" clip-on showing on the end. The bevel is present on the tube so I know it hasn't been trimmed. Anyone else run into this problem? Remedies?
