Ducati 749s Fans not workings

Hi lads first/post thread and i hope you can help

I was doing some work on the 749s over the weekend and it showed up error codes 17.2 and 18.2 which are

17.2 LH Fan shorted to earth
18.2 RH Fan shorted to earth

Now ive checked all the fuses and wiring and all seem fine but im still getting these error codes. When i ground the fans independently they power on so no problems there

Im wondering if the thermostat was faulty could this cause the above problem and show up the error codes

I had that problem on my 999 04 but only on one fan...
Check wires of the fan on back of the battery box. Heat from the exhaust knows to melt down the wire insulation so wires can be there shorted.
I attached wiring diagram for my 999...probably the same as 749.
