cleaning a matte finish
What do I guys use to clean the matter finish on the 848 EVO? Dealer says don't use the typical polish sprays we all use on regular clear coats...

Try brake/carb cleaner.
JK, warm water with just a touch of soap. Then lots more water.

soap and water or low powered cleaners like ''wax and grease remover'' from your local jobber.
while the finish is neat its a real pain in the ass for ''detail'' freaks when you can't polish or wax

I have always used WD-40 to clean then a good simple green wash, its amazing how good that has cleaned for me. It will also remove stickers with a little elbow grease.

Go out an buy some good quality micro fiber towels...the good stuff and a can of Honda's spray cleaner and polish. One towel wipes the polish off, the other buffs it.
Be careful with soaps as they are very astringent and can damage finishes. If you want to remove the wax from your cars finish use dish washing soap they used to say. Some soaps are harsh, some are not....I'm sure somebody has a better secret method though....

Remember when cleaning matte finishes, in most all cases it is a clearcoat with flattening agent. The flattening agent distorts the gloss qualities by creating a 'fuzzy' surface to put it in simple terms. If you spend time rubbing this surface like it was a gloss surface, you are in effect 'smoothing' the 'fuzzy' surface and rendering it back to some level of gloss. The same can be said about using cleaning waxes and polishes, you rub them enough and you can leave a shiny spot pretty damn quick. Even though some manufacturers make products geared towards flat finishes you still have to be careful when using them.
Soap and water is the preferred method, just plain water will do, and so will the wax and grease remover. If the surface is actually a flattened clearcoat, it should be resilient enough to withstand most any agent you use to clean it.
Here's what I use: Clean water wipe, windex or diluted simple green for tougher spots like bugs etc, and a chamois cloth to do a single pass dry wipe. The less you rub, the longer your finish will remain flat and new looking.

Go buy a micro fiber rag (clean) and a dry micro fiber rag. For polish use PLEXUS!!! NOTHING ELSE! Once you finish using the clean rag, use the dry rag for an ultimate shine finish! Mine looks clean bro! Take a look:

Whatever you do.. never use a microfiber cloth on duco.
Microfibre traps particles in its weave, especially small sharp objects which will then happily scratch the next shiny surface it's used on.
Ask me how I know this
Be happy with a traditional soft cotton cloth
