Oil Pressure Switch - "BAR" Question

Hi Guys

A wee question. I have a 2000 996BP which has a leaking oil pressure switch. Nothing unusual from reading up at MS.
However, my local dealer sent a new (Genuine) switch which is stamped 0.15 - 0.4 bar. The original is stamped 0.4 - 0.7 bar.
Should I fit the new switch?
I am concerned because the new switch will be satisfied with a far lower pressure before bringing the warning light on than the original. My dealer said 'I have sold 48 of these and no one has questioned it before so it must be OK'. I am not convinced.

Any informed opinions / experience appreciated please

You new switch won't come on until the pressure is between 2 - 5.8 psi
The correct one comes on between 5.8 and 10psi.
Naturally he won't get any complaints as the oil lights will all stay off.
That switch is worse than useless.

Get yourself the correct switch or a Tridon TPS 048 aftermarket one.

Now then, I spoke with the main importer into Australia (Where our parts come via from Italy). And, much to my surprise the new 0.15 - 0.4 bar switch supersedes all other parts previously. I must reverse my thoughts of my local dealer!!!!
