What the mess are...

... those metal hooks attached to some of the 748-996 bibosto seat cushions? I'm talking about those gold plated metal bracket/hooks bolted into the front of the cushion on the biposto seats.

I've been on the quatros for models before and up to 2000 and haven't ever seen the items use. What are they for?

There are 2 of these hooks, 1 per side on the BiP setup. They engage onto a horizontal "pin" or "tab" on the BiP subframe, and when the seat is lowered and locked, they engage the pins to hold the seat down.

The tabs are under the "s" in the watermark and directly vertical/below from it...



And these are the type of hooks that engage them...

I think every Bip bike came with those hooks but many owners removed them because they make it more difficult to latch the seat.

Thanks fellahs. I've owned 3 bipostos and never seen the hooks. I installed a new seat with them and it was such a pain I assumed something was wrong and took them off.

I guess after all.... I am just like everyone else.
