Need high quality chain grease
Please help me...... I bought what I thought was a high quality chain grease, 'Shell Advance Chain - High Adhesion'. Only every time i go riding, it all flicks off onto my back rim and under my exhaust. I spend around 1 hour after every ride cleaning it. I apply the grease after a ride when the chain is warm, as directed. If anyone knows of a better grease that actually sticks to the chain, I would appreciate your help.
Thanks

Maxima Chain Wax. I guarantee it will not sling off...not even a little bit. Clean your chain really really good before applying. This is a wax and designed to basically seal the chain by coating it and protecting it.

Thanks. Exactly what i need, something that'll stay on the chain - I'll look out for it. Hopefully they sell it here in Aust.

Do you let it sit and dry for half an hour before you go ride? I wipe off any excess to and usually dont have much of a problem. At least not an hours worth of clean up.

Keep the Shell stuff... just use it as a chain cleaner. Spray it on a rag and wipe the chain down link by link. Then get the good stuff and lube it.
I use Maxima, so it IS in OZ, but prefferd the white Silkolene stuff. I just couldn't find it last time. I think Bel Ray does a good one in a mini can you can stuff under your seat.

Bel-Ray chain wax (presume Maxima is about the same). The key is you have to apply AFTER you ride, when the chain is warm. procedure is
- return from ride
- put bike on rear stand
- start bike and put in 1st gear,
- generously apply, let bike run for 1-2 minutes on the stand to distribute lube.
- park
It will be perfectly lubed, and won't fling once. This is what we use on our racebikes.
