Spark Plug Socket size/brand for 996?

Sorry to spam this board with questions guys, but I can't get my spark plug socket to grab on the plugs in my 996 motor. I don't know what kind of plugs they are, they came with the motor. The spark plug socket I used before is a Craftsman 5/8" spark plug socket. It worked fine on the 748 motor. I really can't tell whether it's not going in all the way (too thick) or not grabbing (too big.) Any insight anyone has would be really helpful.

If anyone is following my posts, I got the fuel pump system out of the tank and besides the filter being a little blocked, everything looked OK. I'll get back on that tommorow when I go to NAPA for the filter...they didn't have them at Advance.

Thanks guys I would not be this far without your all help.

-Trent

Its going to be metric. I belive my Denso's use a 18mm. I took the rubber boot out of a spark plug socket and put it into a Kobalt 18mm. My Craftsman 18mm was too thick to fit down the head.

The plugs for your 996 in Denso Iridium is IX27.

I can confirm that the Kobalt 18mm spark plug socket is the correct size. I got it in a 4-pack of spark plug wrenches from Lowes.
