What Size Exhaust Retaining Spring?

While looking over my 1999 748 this weekend, I noticed that the exhaust spring from the rear cylinder’s header pipe was missing... I found 'some' of it in the bottom of the lower fairing....

Can someone please post what size that spring is so I can order a couple of spares? I assume 2" but that's based on the lenght of the other exhaust springs on the bike...

Also, anyone know of an on-line place that sells them and heck, I might as well go all out and buy a spring-hook so I don't risk losing an eye by using a pair of vise-grips (my old stand-by method that probably damaged the original spring in the first place)....

Thanx!

Hank, I'd bet one of our vendors here could hook you up...no pun intended.

All the springs on my 748 were the same size, unless you got new springs with a aftermarket exhaust system. Also I found a hook shaped awl, for removing 0-rings and such. It works like a champ to hook the spring and remove it with out it flying across the garage.

Yes the springs (on my 916 anyway) are all the same size.
