1198 front fairing bracket broken slightly
Hey guys,
I laid down my 1198 a couple of weeks ago and its been in the shop since. I had a question about something they brought up. I feel like they might be lying to me because they already ordered parts that I didn't 100% need and don't want to send them back.
There is a bracket on the front fairing that holds the speedo, headlights, fairing, mirrors, and a bunch of other stuff. At the top of the bracket where the mirrors get secured, on the left side this bracket snapped. Leaving only 1 screw/bolt hole instead of the 2 that were normally there. Basically about an inch of the end of the bracket snapped off. They told me it was really unsafe to install the new fairing and everything to this . The way I see it though is that the only thing effected would be that the mirror would only have one bolt securing it. This piece besides being pretty expensive itself take a lot of time to work on as well because you have to take off all the parts connected to it(or so they say) turning my total work done into an additional $1000 or so.
I don't do much work myself on these so I might have explained this pretty badly and if thats the case just let me know and I can post a picture of it.
Thoughts?
