9*6 Corse Mag Swingarm Refinish

Recently refinished this Corse magnesium 9*6 long swingarm for a racebike. The swingarm had been poorly repainted an odd brown color at some point in its long history so a good time to completely recon the swingarm! Stripped, sealed powdercoated Marchesini metallic gold and all parts cleaned, inspected, greased and reassembled.

Wow, nice job man.
I had all those bits and more on my 2000 996RS .... but it was an active race bike and whilst I tried to keep them tidy I concentrated on them being functional rather than pristine visually.
It's too stressful having mint parts like your ones on a race bike !!

If I'd been able to keep the bike and retire it ... doing what you have done would have been my choice too.

Awesome.

These parts are from an active racebike and all the magnesium parts have seen heavy use over their 10+ year race history (wheels stamped '96) and had certainly seen better days. Hence the strip, inspection, powdercoating and also replaced bearings, miscellaneous fasteners and quite a few other marginal things that should happen in the off season but usually don't. That the parts look great is secondary, but if I'm doing the work then it's going to look nice as well. If I have something apart, it's not going to go back together and not be better than before I took it apart.
