personally i would rather spend a 3rd of the desmo's $$ and get a 1098R as IMO it as as good a bike as the desmo, factory rated 186hp aswell.

but as for eye turning you cant go past the desmo

well looking at the stats i would deffinatly go for the 1098R for street use.
seems to me to be a much better bike from the stats. but when you can say, i own a desmosedici peoples mouths will drop lmao, that alone is worth the $$$.
