New 2017 with Problems

Hello all.

New to this forum as I just took delivery a couple weeks ago of a new Volcano Gray 2017 S Touring/Urban full Termi. I greatly appreciate all of you that have taken time to write of your problems and resolutions as it has made customizing this thing much easier. I do have a couple questions:

1. The key fob isn't working at any distance. If I hold it right up by the transponder in the right fairing, it will work. The dealer (Harrison Eurosports) in Salt Lake City, has said they don't know what to do and are sending the key back to Ducati for repair. I have read multiple key fob posts on this site and I am aware of the reset button on my current key fob. Given that doesn't work, has anyone found a solution I should let my dealer know?

2. Does anyone know if Givi top cases will work on the mounts provided for the Ducati top case in the Urban package? Based on the mechanism, I'd say the Ducati case is made by Givi. But I bought a Givi E370 Monolock case to have a smaller option thinking it would be interchangeable. But it used a completely different locking mechanism. Is there any kind of Givi mount that is the same as the Ducati top case mount?

3. Is there a commonly accepted footpeg that is a little wider than the standard Ducati? My foot is a little wide for the right side peg.

4. Is there a commonly accepted way to get maximum handlebar height and pullback (I'm 6'4" with short arms for my height)? I have read posts about handlebars, Ducati risers, and Rox Risers. It appears Rox Risers are most commonly used to get maximum height/pullback without new cables. True?

Any other common things to watch out for on a new Ducati? I've read a lot of posts on wind management. Unlike most, I like having my head in clean air. I'm still looking for the right windshield height but I sure appreciate all of you who have posted (including videos) on this topic. Thank you.

And thanks all,

Ty

Welcome to the forum !!

You actually only have one problem so to speak and that's the key fob range. #2 - 4 are personal desires not related to any defect or quality issue.

Regarding item 4, I noticed that the 2017 DVT Enduro has a factory riser installed (P/N 7131B801AA) source Ducati Omaha. Perhaps you could use the Enduro parts to achieve your goal?

I've used Rox risers many times and have been happy with their products. I installed the risers on my 2015 DVT and have not needed to modify the brake line.

#2. yes the bracket come with urban kit is using GIVI mono lock. You can use other GIVI topbox with monolock system to mount on the bracket.
You can purchase only the bracket kit and get your topbox separately

#3. Im using ducati performance handlebar riser (20mm). It's easy to fit and no need to extend the stock cables.
The enduro handlebar riser doesn't fit the standard MTS if I remember correctly.

#4. You can get MTS Enduro footpeg, it can fit and provide much bigger footprint area.

Thank you all. I should not have titled it problems as I was clearly looking for advice. Sorry for my error and thank you for the advice. I will try the battery, risers, and enduro footpegs. I will also try the Givi Monolock.

Thanks again,

Ty

Givi makes two kinds of mounts and associated luggage: Monokey and Monolock. You want Monokey, which is the heavier-duty stuff commonly used on motorcycles. Monolock is for lighter-duty applications (think: scooters).
