Pirelli Angel GT

I'm considering these for my 2015 Multi. Any feedback on whether I should get the standard or D spec version?

I think you refer to the "A" spec. I have used both and find the A spec lasts a bit longer otherwise I cannot discern much difference.

I've been running the D-Spec tires for 21k they have been great. I figured Pirelli came up with a special tire, who am I to outsmart the engineers?

Can we assume that the 21k was not on the same set of tires? Getting that many miles would be quite extraordinary :-)

Best I've ever made it is about 8k on the rear tire over about 125k total miles on 3 bikes (ST4s, ST3s and 1200 MTS).

Great tires, Love them,-4 I've been through 3 sets on my multi, lost count, But there is a better tire out there now, its the Metzler Roadtech 01, great write ups on these tires. Un fortunately on my last big ride on the multi, my rear Angel GT ran out of rubber half way through a big ride, and the local bike shop only had PR4s in the 190-55-17, so thats what i have on the rear now, no way I'm putting one on the front tho.

I'm on a 2014 MTS GT and had the Angel GT as the OEM, did 5K miles on those, and now just completed 5K miles on the Scorpion Trail II. Based upon that comparison I can wholeheartedly say that the Angel GT is an inferior tire (except for maybe threadlife, but not by much) and it negatively impacts the handling on the 14 (which should translate to the 15). The Angel GT seems to have a default tendency to stand up while the Trail II has a natural tendency to lean in, which translated, on the Angel GT, to me always feeling as if I had to force the bike into turns, especially first gear turns, while the Scorpion Trail II almost falls into the same turns, making the bike feel much more natural and confidence inspiring. This applies both solo and 2-up.

I read good things about Metzeler Roadtec 01, haven't tried them though. But based upon my experience with the Angel GT, I wouldn't recommend them. I hope this helps.

Reading various riders opinions of the Angel GT (or any other time for that matter) is always of interest to me. Unlike TexMexStrada, I have found over the many miles I have ridden on this tire (approx. 70k mi) that the handling is neutral and quite to my liking. I really have no complaints other than that they are now being made in China which is a deal breaker for me and so I will be trying something else once I wear out the extras I have in my garage. This again is just me. In the end, tires seem to be a lot like oil, there are lots of good products out there and lots of opinions from A to Z as to the pros and cons.

I say, try a set and see if you like 'em.
