Ongoing starting issues

Still having trouble with starting my 2015 DVT.

Been on and off for about 8 months. As it's been summer here in Sydney, Australia it's started fine but last week the temps started dropping and today I had the same familiar starting issues (see attached video).

Bike is garaged, outside temp today was 14C / 55F. I put a new battery in about 4 months ago and the bike does 50km / 2 hrs a day 5 days a week. Fuelled with 95 octane or 98 octane as per dealer recommendations. Today took maybe 20 seconds. The colder it gets it can take up to a minute to start.

Can't think of anything else pertinent but would welcome any input. Driving me mad - a bike that costs $30k should not start like this and as my warranty expires in 2 months I'm getting a little nervous. Is this normal behaviour for your bike?

Cheers

Possibly a simple temp sensor problem. If the ECU doesn't know it's cold, it won't apply a cold starting adjustment. Since it's under warranty, why not let the dealer sort it out B4 it isn't?

I try to be thorough. I rarely return to a thread. If you have a question for me, PM me.

I live in Florida so it doesnt exactly get cold here but ive experienced the same issue with my 2016.

Just a few weeks ago we had a "cold" front where the temps were hovering around 60-70 F. I would roll the bike out of the garage and it would do the exact same thing.

I took it to my dealer and they told me that they couldnt replicate the issue and therefor they couldnt do anything. They asked me to take cell phone video to show them the problem. Sure, everytime i start my bike im going to sit there with my camera....Sigh.

My 2015 S does this as well. I have Termi exhaust with the fuel map enabled. Was wondering if it had something to do with the Termi fuel map. But apparently not.

Have you taken all the battery cable connections loose and made sure none are corroded?

I've had similar issues on my '15 when left out overnight at a motel where it's cool in the mornings.

I have similar issues with my 1098 and 1299. Ducati's never turn over very fast on the OEM batteries.

My Tuono also show similar symptoms.

I've replaced the batteries in the 1299 and Tuono with Shorai Lithium batteries. Now these puppies crank like my good old Japanese bikes.

Haven't quite got to the point of replacing the Multistrada battery.

Mine is anemic turning over. I bought the bike used and assume it is the original batter but still can't be more than 2 years old. Maybe I'll put a new AGM battery in it. I just put one in my Kawasaki C14 and it turns over and starts instantly. That bike is 7 years and 74,000 miles old.

Do you have the full Termi? My 2015, and both my 2016 Pikes Peaks have this same problem.

Yes I have the full Termi. I have been commuting in Urban mode and mostly starting it in Urban mode. I used mostly Touring mode over the weekend and left it in Touring. I had no problem starting this morning. I'm going to leave it in Touring mode and see if that makes a difference. I was at a Ducati dealer on Saturday and started a showroom MTS 950 and it turns over slow like my 1200 S and the salesman says that is normal for Ducati. So I am going to hold off on a new battery.
