2017 Airbox Lid

Anybody thinking of putting the 2017 airbox parts on the 2015-2016?

24715541A - Airbox Lid
7131B841A - Spacer
78811581A - Cover Gasket
78811592A - Airbox seal - Tank
48610992A - Airbox cover

The attached picture is from an Italian site and it looks like it could be a worthwhile modification?
I like the openness of the 2017 lid.
It also looks like the "Airbox seal - Tank" part is used to prevent hot air from coming up from below and getting to the new opening.
More air + cooler air, how could you go wrong?

I haven't really been following along, but last I heard Ducati offers no support for installing the 2017 airbox on a 2015 or 2016 bike

I wasn't expecting their support so much as hoping that for the 2017 model, there is a full-termi kit that comes with a different map to that which was offered in the kit for the 2015 model. The dealer might be able to determine this. I'll have to go ask my dealer I guess.

Shoot, I was just there a couple hours ago ordering tires. Should have thought to ask.

Yeah, looks like Ducati may not be going to offer any more ECU map updates for '15's and '16's, but cheer up. Who knows, we might get a t-shirt from Bologna that says "I Beta Tested the DVT."

Got the parts today, I'll put them on this weekend and let everyone know how it goes. PS the U.K. guys are also saying a new map is out. I might eventually take it in to the stealer ship and connect to the DDS to see. In the meantime if anyone goes in for service, let us all know if there is a new map. Tell the tech to keep their eyes peeled!

I would not recommend this mod for the faint of heart! If you are not mechanically inclined I would advise taking it to the dealer to get done. That being said, once you get all the parts together and figure out where they go it is obvious there was an air intake issue that has been addressed by Ducati. The old intake was sucking hot air from behind the rad. The new intake includes a rubber gasket part that pits over top of the rad so now it's sucking air from in front of the rad. The mouth to the new air box lid is also larger.

Took the bike out for a ride today. The flat spot is gone! Throttle response is a lot more smooth. In 4th gear around 80-90 km/hr (maybe 3000rpm) if you crack it open it accelerates smooth all the way to the powerband.
