I Strongly think that we should PROTEST to DUCATI for bending us over for the OBVIOUS money grab that they are doing...
Perhaps a good old HIPPY SIT IN at the corporate head quarters, is in order...

The design is WEAK at BEST ,and being a enduro well it SHOULD have the ability to take more than a little BUMP ,without costing $100+

Time to look at OTHER Fixes... NON-DUCATI fixes ...
This is where some SMART people step up and figure out a better than original set up...

Looking forward to see the ingenious people with a talent for these kind of issues to show how they did their thing...

JB weld

Both of my handguards were broken when I got bike, minor tip overs I was told. I used J B Weld 4 min epoxy and held pieces in perfect alinement on bench with Gorilla tape. After dry, used satin black paint on repair, not noticable and very strong....$5 was cost.

Order placed

Ok, I was able to place order with Ducati Omaha online, we will see what happens. My local dealer said this was discontinued, however, I ordered part nos above instead of below...

On my 2010 MTS, the part nos from book were a little different:

460.2.385.1A. Left
460.2.384.1A Right

Here's a link for carbon fiber "look" brushguards:

Carbon Fiber Dirt Bike 7 8" Handlebar Brush Hand Guards w 1 1 8" Kit Pro Taper | eBay

In the meantime, I bolted the broken pieces to a piece of scrap wood flooring to hold them in place in relation to each other...about 1 3/8" strong center to center on the bolt holes. Roughed up the break with sandpaper and filled it with JB weld. I'm not sure if this is strictly a mechanical bond - likely - so i put on a couple of layers in the back where it is not really visible. So far, it seems pretty sturdy. I'll poke around at it some more tomorrow then spray it with flat black paint. These things are windguards at best.
