Bought a Multi 1100S
Yup. Finally was able to get one. Delivered the Matrix 998 to its new owner and headed down to Modesto Ducati to complete the purchase.
The link below shows the new bike.

It's an 1100S DS.

Congratulations Raffy. I know you've been eyeing the bike for a while and I swear the Multi is the best all around bike in the Ducati line-up. I know of a few Multi owners in the Dog Pound now, all very happy with their rides.
Please post your impressions once you get a chance. The black color is awesome.

Thanks. I took a test ride on a used one 3-4 weeks ago. Although the ride was short, i really liked the sitting up position and the ability to make tight U turns.
Will provide more feedback once I get few hundred miles in.

Congrats on the bike.
After plus 13 years of Ducati ownership one first things I notice on my demo ride was that I could make a U turn. Usually that was a stop, go back and forth a few times deal on all my other Ducati's.
Have fun with it.

Hey there friend, glad to hear you were able to get the new toy. and the weather is co-operating this weekend to help you enjoy it. 4 days of great weather in a row so far. of course I managed to come down with a miserable sinus cold. I'm a bit envious of the Ohlins, but won't you mis the clutch rattle!? Happy riding

Thanks Jan:
I still have access to the Matrix anytime I want for that rattle noise.
The 1100S is considerably quieter. Now a set of Remus CF cans will take care of that as well as enhace the appearance.

Congrats on the new purchase. Interested to hear your impressions on the motor, since I'll be getting a Hypermotard (1100).

Well I took my first ride this morning to work. I had to take the freeway just so I could get a feel for it.
Ok. I didn't go far to make a considerable analysis. However, I can tell you it has gobs of torque and keeping it under 6K rpm for 600 miles is going to be tough. Very tough. I have to be careful to not pop a wheelie. It will do it without much effort.
I asked if I should break it in by "riding it as I stole it". The response was just don't bounce off the rev limiter. So the first 50 miles, I'll keep it under 6K rpm. After that it's off to the higher end of the rpms.
The bike is considerably lightweight compared to the BMW R1150GS and obviously the R1150GS Adventure. It's nimble, narrower and quite flickable. I'll keep it for street use. For trail and 'dirt' riding, I have a 2004 R1150GS Adventure on it's way from Colorado. Best of both worlds I believe.
For now, I'm very happy with my decision to buy the 1100S. If this works out well, I could see a Hypermotard in the stable.

Yup. Easily done. It is a an upright position. I have to ride around for an hour or two to see if a seat change will be necessary or not. Lane splitting will be much easier too due to the bike being narrow.
Modesto has a red one in stock. If you want a black one, I'm sure they can get you one. I believe they also have a 2006.
