Should I get bar risers?
I now have my 2011 Multi S touring pretty well set up to my liking. I have about 3000 miles on it and over all very satisfied. I was wondering if risers would make a comfortable riding position even more comfortable.?? I am 5'8" 30 inch inseam and average arm/ torso length. I feel like I am leaning forward ever so slightly which is great for cornering. I plan on doing some 300 mile days and wondering if a slight riser ( 30mm) might be a good thing? I dont want to go thru the hassle of buying them and putting them unless I am fairly certain its a good trade off.

Alas everyone is different. I am taller than you and I wish the bars were LOWER for my liking. Hey, what would be good would be some kind of electronically adjustable bar height that is programmable along with the Ohlins suspension settings

I installed risers and found the throttle cables were affected at full handlebar swing. 30 mm I believe.
I will have the shop re install them at the 15k service as the bodywork will be off and rerouting the cables will be easier.

Try rolling you bars back towards you, a little bit helped me get more comfortable. You will have to set your clutch and brake lever angles again but no big deal

Be careful on how much you raise your bars. Sometimes even an inch or two will cause for you to have to use your delts too much causing excessive fatigue in longer rides. May even tighten your traps.

I am 6ft 2 and I like my bars raised. I did it the cheap way but this works perfectly, costs very little, gives the bars better clearance from the screen and all cables and hydraulics fit as they are.
MTS1200 raised handlebars - El Cheapo, fast and easy
They are still there as fitted almost a year and 12K km later. No one has ever noticed them.

Go here: Motorcycle Ergonomics
Enter your data and see if bar risers will get you where you want to be. I used this tool a lot when shopping for my next bike and at 6'0", the Multi w/ 30mm risers looked perfect.....and is.
Just FYI, 30mm is as high as you can go without replacing/moving cables.
