Any simple solution to smooth-out 0-4000 RPM ???
Hi All,
I am new to Multistrada 1200. Rode a 1098 until I lost it in east coast flood last September2011.
I am looking for a simple solution to smooth out the Multi between 0-4000 RPM. Read a few threads which got to technical and did not demonstrate (to my understanding) a unanimous solution to make Multi run better between 0-4000 RMP
Read about:
Advanced O2 Optimizer, Dual Channel
AutoTune (Dual Channel)
Powercommander V
Bazzaz
ECU Flash
...
Did anyone come-up with something that works well?
Thank You,
AJ

I have the Termi full system and the race ECU.
Fat Ducs solved the problem for me.

I'm always a little confused about these threads. I know that the Multi's had fuelling issues during their first year.
Mine runs perfectly smooth, and I do mean "perfectly". Always has. Surely, I can't have the only one that does? My previous Ducati was pretty much unusable under 4,000RPM, so I totally get what you are referring to.
I mention this sort of in response to the idea of a "unanimous" solution as I'm wondering if there really is such a thing. I'd really love to go with the LV exhaust that we keep seeing pop up, but my bike runs so well that I'm not sure I should tamper with it at all.
Cheers!

I've got to believe that they can be tweaked to run smoothly, "simply" by a GOOD mechanic , who knows what is going on.
Sure you can get a few more horse power with spending .
HOW fast do you want to spend? Sky is the limit.
They are all choked up to pass the strictest emmissions on the planet right from the factory.
See who is a well respected shop in your area and start with that.
It may not be the dealer that you purchased from...
I would start there, and see what they can do and see how you like it.
Mine runs just fine without any aftermarket parts...

perhaps this is (as earlier mentioned) a MTS who hasn't had the updates ?
Perhaps this effect will happen when riding in "sport" setting while not riding "sportly" ?
Perhaps the "evap canister?" has got something to do with it, since we don't have it in europe (lucky US, you get more "bike" than europeans )
Or perhaps it is just bad luck ?
I test-rode a brandnew 20 mile old 2012 MTS and didn't found it uneasy to ride through the city , but then it was in touring-setting and i was asked not to pass the 6000 rev's .....
Just hope my to be delivered MTS rides the same as the tested model
Some use a 14t sprocket, perhaps this is for the same reason ?

mine runs OK stock
Mine runs well /smooth after I got the latest ECU update. However, it still runs on the lean side, and runs even better when its cold outside (enrichment for low air temp I am assuming). I imagine Fatducs would make it perfect, but its good enough as is for now. It is butter smooth compared to my 09 1100s.

This is how I feel exactly - I don't even want to mess with an aftermarket exhaust because my bike runs so good.
I'd take it to the dealer and have the latest updates done to the ECU.

I too have a new mts, but it has always run smoothly. I will check to see which flash I have, but I don't want to change anything that may illeffect performance.

I haven't ascertained how to do that, short of plugging it onto the dealer's computer...

I have been told there is a plug into the harness that I can read the flash on a laptop, but I will simply ask my tech at the dealership.
