Gas Mileage?
Seems like I get better gas mileage in sport mode then in touring mode...
just using the built in miles per gallon feature, I know it's not accurate, but comparing touring and sport mode, I get few miles per gallon more in sport...
tried urban mode too...
also shows greater range in sport mode if I change it on the fly...

I'm usually having lots of fun in the twisties when I'm in sport mode and getting on it pretty good, so I haven't had the same experience as you... I pretty much run in touring when I'm just cruising about... Primarily for the softer suspension settings. Maybe I'll give sport mode a try for the more mellow riding to compare.

I changed the front sproket to 14t and now get about 140 miles to a tank, and I am on it in the twities and 90 on hwy. was getting 225+ with the 15t!
Have noticed a little better mpg in Sport vs touring.

That change to a 14t is a dramatic and (over time) a rather expensive mod.
Hoping it's worth the performance change: as I'm going to try this in the spring.

The least expensive performance mod for the highest return. Although gas will suck, pun intended, the throttle response makes it feel like a totally different bike. I did, however, mention to my tech that I wanted him to show me how to change it out for longer trips. ( I did see the thread on how to do it yourself, but I want a walk through first by a Ducati tech, cautious I guess) He suggest I look into a quick change for the rear. Have not found one yet, but the search goes on....

I once considered the 14T mod. Thanks for posting the gas mileage penalty...it was something I never considered.

I've never bought a bike with the MPG in mind. Fun per mile is another matter. I do however consider how far I can go on a tank if it's unreasonable...like <100 miles on my Tri.

I did the 14t conversion several months ago and enjoy the dramatic change in performance. Before the converson I averaged about 44 mpg. Now I average 42. My daily commute is about 80 miles per day on the interstate at around 70 mph.

Forgive me for asking....
So what is the benefit of the 14t front sprocket .....?
My understanding is.....you will tear your arms off on acceleration.....have to change gear more often.....have lower mpg....wear the tires quicker.....?
So pls enlighten me? Why change it....or am I missing something here?
Is it just to have faster acceleration?
