Ducati Top Case Deals?
Hey all,
I'm going to be adding about 115 lbs. to the back of my MTS1200 this summer, so I'm in need of a top case for touring. I've done my research and have decided on the 48 liter OEM top case, with backrest. Does anyone know of any deals out there on these? There was a thread last year about a group dealer buy on topcases, but looked like it fell through.
Thanks!
Joe

Might check if your dealer will give you a parts discount. My duc dealer did and while the top case was an expensive add-on , the discount put the price within shouting distance of some alternatives when they include the back-pad and mounting rack. I also thought the Duc case looked better. It holds two helmets and seals well. The latch required a little technique that is now second-nature.

There have been a few attempts at a group buy (myself included) without any success. Dealers don't seem too interested in discounting them.

Thanks guys! I will check with my dealer, just thought I'd put this thread out there and see what happens.

Plan on about 500 bucks..
Give or take a few bucks. Install is not too bad ..plan on an hour or two for the rack and the lock mechanism. I have "115" pounds on the back occasionally and she wont ride with out it. I looked at other versions but the OEM fits in with the rest of the bike and works just fine.

My dealer was willing to do 10% off for a group buy but I also got it out of him that I could get 10% off for just about any Ducati part even if I only bought one.

My 115 pounder is hesitant with riding, I know she will feel more at ease with the trunk and backrest. It's bonus storage for 2-up trips as well. I agree, like the look of the OEM with the OEM panniers.

some dealers will offer a 10-15% discount for club members. check with your local dealer. you may also ask about a cash discount to saver the 3% Visa charges merchants.
