Swing arm drainage

I gave my Multi a wash yesterday and cleaned around the rear of the swing arm and was surprised when water started to run out of the swing arm at the lowermost position near the hub. On further investigation there is a small drainage hole near the back of the rear shock which allows water to drain from there through the swing arm to a even smaller drainage hole underneath the rear hub. I think mine must have had a little piece of grit or other blockage which I cleared when washing which explains a decent amount of water coming out. Gave me a fright!

Might be worth checking your bike's is clear.

I am surprised though that the water can get in the top near the shock - is this drain hole open on your bikes or am I missing a small plug of some sort?

I noticed the same puddle of water after washing...
This is probably what is causing the trouble with the chain adjustment being so difficult for some and the so called crappy large spanner with the tool kit...

I think you can get water and crud in the SA from the holes in the side of it too...
Keep the weep hole clear so moisture can drain...

If a bunch of crud gets in the vertical chanel where the weep hole is and you loosen the pinch bolts and the crud gets into the clamping area and gets squished ,upon tightening the pinch bolts ,where it is supposed to be clean nothing good can become of it.
I think!!!
