So what do you guys think?
So, many, many months ago, (Like 20 months ago) I put 3k down on a new Norton. So far, they have not emerged on these shores and I have been told on several occasions that they are coming, just be patient. All about the emmisons issues.
Well, 20 months is a long time to wait. They were at the Long beach MC show and although I couldn't make it, I heard that they were there and assured that we would seeing them in the next 90 days or so. Question: Should I hold out or should I get my money back and buy a frickin' Diavel? I don't even need another bike, but I'm an idiot and that's another thread.

I'd take a Diavel over a Norton

20 months is a very long time! I would stick it out and wait for the Norton. I was in the same situation with two other bikes. I ended up buying one because I couldn't wait anymore and ultimately resold for less and bought my long waited for Tricolore.

Hmm….. Let’s see; hang on waiting for Rosie O’donnel to show up or just grab onto Jennifer Aniston right now? Guess I’d have to think about that one.
Seriously though, Commando’s certainly have their charm, but it’s nostalgia based. Why not get the Diavel and for chump-change more add a Bonneville? That way you can indulge your nostalgia for air-cooled Brit bikes and have a rootin-tootin, rip-snortin, rompin-stompin “Get the hell outa my way our I’ll suck you right into the injectors” ride when you’re so inclined.

Don't know why you post this in the multistrada topic , but go for the bike you want. If you still want the Norton, than i'll guess all you can do is wait and possibly ask around (but i rekon you've done that allready )

Cool reply!
But if you care about the investment value: the Diavel compared to the Norton is like comparing an (original, pristine) Indian to a (current) Vespa.
(Not that there is anything wrong with Vespas, mind you).

I think someone has their brain in backwards - the Diavel is Rosie O'Donnell and the Norton - well, I d rather just call that beautiful.
OP, I talked to the guy at the Long Beach show and he said 6 months is the soonest and you can add another 3 for Cali residents because the laws there are Asinine.
The reality is they just don't know - it's up the people who approve these things and who can predict what they're gonna do?
The Triumph is a nice bike but it's not even in the same ballpark as the new Norton.
I would still hold out for the bike but I think I might get me something else to play with in the mean-time, but it sure wouldn't be a nasty-ass Diavel
Stay the course or give me your spot- I'm thinking about putting a deposit on one myself.

I wouldn't either but if I had to choose betw. those 2 that's what it would be otherwise a SFS hands down. Besides, the guy already has a MTS.

I had a 1979 Vespa ET3 and loved it, purchased brand new and I'm sure it's still around somewhere floating back in the old country.

Yes, I do have an MTS and love it. Like I said, I don't need another bike, I know that. I have several. Only reason I posted here is because I post here and sorta know you guys.
