New springs for plus size guys
Just got new front and back springs installed on standard abs, wow what a difference , its like a new bike, Im 6' 250lbs and stock suspension was not cutting it when riding with the sport bikes. Local suspension guru did the work (actually recommended by my dealer) and he even set up bike for me. anyway for you plus size guys and gals with no ohlins on the fly adjustment this is definately well worth looking into.
for the technical guys I went from:
front-.60 to .95 springs
rear- 8.4kg (84nm i believe) to 8.9kg (approx 88nm)
total cost parts and labor and tax 600 big ones, exhaust will have to wait a little longer

Looks good. The price seems about right. I would have suggested a little stiffer rear spring though. Probably around a 120.

the increase in front springs does seem a bit much, but perhaps this is needed for the non-S models.
On the S models the rear spring is mostly replaced with a 100N spring (stock = 85N) , because the stock rear spring is the weakest one, its preload is in 13 of the 16 possible settings allready at it's max. (16 settings = 4 driving modes x 4 passenger/luggage modes)
The front springs are 2 x 6 N, but are not on the max settings/sag like the rear spring is, so sometimes these do not have to be replaced. However, (also) for balance the 7.0N springs are mostly advised to get front and back both the same % increase.
A heavier spring than 100N (in comparison with the 85N stock spring) also could use some revalving for max performance ..... (but extra $ )

120 would be massively oversprung. I'm a bit over 300lb and run a 115 with suitable revalving.

I wanted 100 nm but went with race tech recommendation , Also went with 10 w oil on front instead of stock 7.5, bike feels really balanced, front end not as forgiving over bumps but for spirited riding it's great, can't wait for deals gap in may

So after spending nearly 15k (GBP) on an all singing all dancing allrounder we find out the much praised suspension isnt up to the job , When i first seen the rear spring i thought it looked a little puny!

If you have the weight of an average italian, then there is no problem with the suspension
I know that i am way heavier than average, and this has consequences.
I can't buy shoes everyhere due to my large shoesize (US 14), and where i can buy them, they are more expensive. The same with clothes, in Europe at least. But i am happy that i CAN buy them in my size
Same with motorbikes : I am happy that with the MTS i can ride a ducati , and what difference does the price of a few springs make on the purchase price of a new MTS

I am 270 and I have had pretty good luck with the stock springs on my bike. I have 3 full turns on the fork springs and I have bumped all dampinging up a half turn from stock and it is pretty good. On the back I have 58 clicks on the rear shock spring and the dampinging set at 10. So far so good she pours into to the turns pretty good even with a full tank of gas.

I guess valving and the oil weight really makes a difference as stated above. I'm a little over 300lbs with full gear and my penske rear shock at the track is still under sprung @ 129.
