Arai XD-3
Hey fellas,
Anyone here have any experience with the Arai XD-3?
There is an XD-4 coming out and they seem to be a pretty good deal. I'm used to riding a traditional sport full face helmet. Wanted to know of anyone would recommend this helmet. Anyone try it on a Superbike or Sport Classic by chance?
Thanks in advance.

XD-3 Owner
I'm on my second XD-3.
Fit has always been good. I must have an "Arai-shaped" head.
Favorite feature is adjustable visor. Keeps the sun out of your eyes really well.
Only issue I've heard from some riders on the visor is it catching the wind when going fast.

^ agreed. super comfy, love the wide peripheral view, but not the quietest and can move your head around a bit at the higher speeds.

An XD-3 is my daily helmet (ride a Hyper), like the other's say, comfortable, good view out, venting and I like that the visor blocks the sun.
I've ridden a 2006 Sport Classic Sport 1000 with the stock low clip-on bars with the XD-3 and it wouldn't be my first choice. The visor catches too much wind for my liking in that position. For a more sport position I prefer my Arai Corsair-V

G'Dat,
Got two XD3 (one black / one Ducati), very comfortable helmet, would buy a XD4 without hesitation.

I thought I'd give my XD-3 a go on my Mutly and it works "OK", but I get some buffeting at freeway speeds that I don't get with any other helmet (my main street helmet is an Arai Signet and I spend 2-3 months during winter in the much warmer and less-foggy Scorpion EXO-1000). Otherwise, the XD-3 is a fantastic helmet that I love for dual-sporting.

Catches the wind and the shape is not very friendly when you turn your head to look at something. If most your ride is done under 65 mph then the XD-3 would be great. I'm looking at the AGV AX-8 DualSport which is lighter than the Arai XD-3/4.
