rear brake recall
I have a 2011 mts 1200 touring. How long do we have to get the recall on the rear brake done? For me in the Northeast, the dealer is 100 miles away and its winter now!!!

I do not believe there are any timelines on recalls

Anyone had it done yet? Should I get better pads at the same time?

Rear brake not working?
Call Ducati Roadsde Assistance. It is a safety issue. Have them tow it to your dealer.
Getting it home is a different matter.

Rear Brake Recall....
I put EBC HH pads on mine about 9 months ago and they are an improvement over the rock hard OEM pads. They aren't like putting new brakes on but definitely an improvement. The pads and the recall make the rear brakes quite useable compared to the way they were.

There will be no recall, but make an appointement with your dealer and he will install some new parts.
It improves the brake a little.

Dealer update mine recently and added new HH pads. I'll get it back tomorrow or early next week. Hope to be an improvement.

I live outside the Boston area. About a month ago, I decided to have the rear brake recall work done, get the oil changed and have a few minor issues addressed before I stored the bike for the Winter, but I did not want to ride the bike back and forth to the dealer.
My dealer (Seacoast Sport Cycles, Derry NH) came down with an oversized van and picked it up and returned it to me.They do this as a service to customers and only charged $20 each way. I live about 30 miles from the dealership. The guy who drove the van did a great job and was very careful loading/unloading my bike.
At this time of year here in the Northeast, it was a no-brainer to use this service. Your dealer may offer a similar service. Most dealers have pickup/delivery but they all set their own prices. Give your dealer a call and ask.

Same here. The dealer I bought the 1200 from lost their Duc franchise, so now I have to go to another one 2+ hrs from me. I still have to get just about all of the 2010 MY updates done (pannier latches, hands free update, rear brake, etc.) so I'm going to just trailer the thing there and leave it for a week. I'll be sure to call the VIN to the dealership beforehand and make sure they have everything before I go. It gets cold in NC, but usually not too cold for year round riding with good gear, so I don't want my bike sitting around their shop waiting on parts.
