My Ducati dealer is crap!!
I made the decision today that im going to put money down on a PP MTS and wait the 4 months for delivery.
I went to the dealer today (I dont want to mention name), And I had to tell him that you can buy a pikes peak version of the MTS. I even showed him on the computer. can you believe that! what a tool.
Also, I couldnt take one for a test ride as there seems to be a couple weeks wait for test rides. I asked , how long of a test ride can I go on and were. I thought that he would say you can take it out for an hour and go were you like. Wrong!
I get to follow a fellow staff member around some back streets, in suburbia, with about 6 other test riders. How fun
He couldnt explain to me how the 4 different riding modes can be adjusted. I think they are adjustable arnt they?
What a waste of my time when i want to shell out 35k for a new bike. mabee I should take his job.
have many others here had a similar situation with your so called expert sales reps?
Anyway, I rang another dealer (about 4 hrs away) and they explained how it all works, would spend however long it takes to set up the bike for me on day of delivery. thats more like it!
He then goes on to say that I can take the bike for a 2-3 hr ride were ever I wish to go.
I am much happier now, and I will be putting money down on the bike when I go for my test ride!
When you are lucky enough to be able to by a new bike, it should be an awsome experience.......
I hope
Dan

I assume your first dealer was Fraser's Motorcycles on Parramatta Road?
Frasers are the Australian importers for Ducati & Harley Davidson. They are also known as NFI (Noel Fraser Imports) or No F**ing Idea.
Independent dealers like North Coast V-Twins are far better to deal with up at Coffs Harbour which who I assume you got a better deal with.
Fraser's aren't worth pissing on, I won't let my shadow darken one of their doorways ever, f**kem!
Good luck with your Pikes Peak

None of that sounds like fun, especially $35K for a MTS1200!

My dealer knew exactly what they were doing when they let me take the MTS1200 on a several hour unsupervised test ride. It was mine that afternoon.

Same here. I took one out all afternoon and rode it on all my favourite roads, including some dirt. How else could you be sure?

No need for a test ride...
Just say "Wrap her up!"
You won't be disappointed ...
The dealer who you get it from should have it running just perfect for you...
There is lots too learn about it
You can get a Simulator for the adjustments so you can practice the buttons...(on your computer)
Glad you found the right dealer , it is too bad some Ducati dealers are so successful ,that they don't have to treat you properly...
Get there early in the day and try it out around there and then go back with any questions or concerns , then blast her on home...
Congrats ...

Sounds like Touring Sport in Greenville. I had to get towed there when my 1100 multi clutch line blew out while on a trip. While the tech fabbed me a new clutch line, I asked about a test ride on one of the 1200s they had. They fired one up, and said "Have fun!" Based on that (and the fact that they fixed my 1100 on the spot), I would have bought my 1200 from them, but they are too far away from me.

Our dealer used the drug dealer business approach also. “Here. Have a free sample. Take as much as you like.” Two hours later my bank account was doomed.
