Please demystify exhuast systems and the need for more jazz.

I want my Duc to breath better, loose some weight, and sound a bit better.

My first thoughts are the full termi because it come with an ECU and it seams the suits a Ducati like them well enough not to cause issue; maybe it "works" better. The crux: the termi is a big pipe and I like the Arrow sound and MIVV's look a bit more.

So I called onto my rep at Duc and he says I need to get a thingamajig PCV or BADAZZ (something like that) AND get it tuned and mapped and remapped and...Well sigh, not so interested now. His suggestions was a full arrow, some new tuner thingy and dyno time to make some new mapping.

Why cannot I just go order the parts install them and go ride? Why do I need to buy special tuners and schedule dyno time? Whats the simplest route for a new system without the cat?

let the search feature be your friend

if you want less weight, easier exhaust output, and louder sound,

de-cat pipes: stock end cans, after market end cans....they'll all be louder with the de-cat. you can supplement with a Performance Blvd. Fat Ducs to help the low-end fueling some (will need a EE unit to fight the XEVL error code). a dyno jet power commander V coupled with a dyno jet auto tune is another option to help round out/improve the bike's fueling. i personally do not know if the latter two are compatible with the MTS12 but they have worked wonders on my previous Guzzi Stelvio and current GS.

full termi: you get the ECU, but some still don't seem to be content with it from a fueling perspective

you have to do these things (and spend the respective monies) if you're not happy with the oem exhaust kit or the bikes fueling as it's not one of the bike's strengths.

do a search!

best success,

[edit] Thanks for the spank.

Search for Exhaust in the Multistrada section

Probably the best thread here about it. Twin carbon Multi 1200 Exhausts

Dont bother with Mivv , My Suono fell apart after a few months and I am not the only one to suffer this problem!

Im buying a pikes peak and it comes with the short termi . its only a slip on buy looks way better than the standard one.
I have a question also, Can you buy a seperate cat eliminator pipe?? Then that would make mine a full system!

yes, minus the ECU that may come with a full system.....the fueling will never be right until the system is mapped to suit the new headers and end can. i think this is correct (with the exception of what a self-learning Auto Tune might do).

thoughts?

I'm working on the same thing. LeoVince midpipe is the way I'm going. Hope fueling is not that difficult to work out

Still beautiful weather down here in Tucson. How is yours?

Because every bike is slightly different which requires different maps. If you want a turn key setup then just drop it off at your dealer and write the a check. Pick it up done and well tuned.

Or buy a Honda.

I happily own a 1000RR as well and it's as turn key as it gets. That said, this is my first Ducati. It has its share of "character traits" but it won't be my last.
