Is the Pikes Peak worth the wait?
Im buying a new bike in the new year. My dealer says that the pikes peak will cost around $3500 more than the tourer version.
Is the extra 3500k really worth it ?also, it would be a 4 month wait as they are only supplying order only! so i have to wait until they build the dam thing in italy!!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the PP owners will say yes while non-PP'ers will say no. So, being the latter, I'll kick things off with a no
Shiny carbon-fiber bits look nice and all, but I couldn't justify the extra money and NOT get the touring goodies that come with the Touring model. I suppose the multi-colored Multi has a Ducati Corse look, but when I saw the scheme I thought it appealed to those who couldn't commit to any of the model's original colors of red or white or black. My foray from Ducati red lasted five years with my yellow ST2, but I'm back to red these days. Rumor has it that in 2013 a Vesuvius model will come out wearing red and black and white and titanium!
Kidding aside, I think only you can answer that question. PP's are in limited production and sport a number plate. Of course, early to mid 90's Superlights are also fairly limited, but aren't fetching collector's prices these days. Besides, you're going to love this bike and ride the heck out of it.
Good luck with your decision!

Totally Agree
!00% only a fool would wait for something that nice. Some prefer blondes, some prefer brunettes. You are your own man, that's what makes the world such an interesting place.
What the.........who put those there?

I'd rather get a titanium gray SPORT version with a termi exhaust. (Youre going to have to get an exhaust anyway.)
Both should be around the same price. The gray is absolutely gorgeous & the best looking color combo to come out!

What is a pikes peak missing compared to the regular multi?

I waited 4 months before my PP arrived. It had value to me as I awaited, when it arrived and as I ride it today. I liked the bike so I waited; to me it was that simple. I am inclinde to believe that trying to rationalise something like the purchase of a motorcycle is a waste of time. If you like the bike buy it, if you don't then don't.

This picture is ever better looking than a Christmas tree, to me!!! Now if I could only persuade my wife to letting me do this, I would.
Oh, back to the original question, I think get whatever ticks your fancy. A Pikes Peak for me, you'll love the red frame, beautiful paint and extra carbon fiber bits. They are $2,000 more than a touring or sport, But I added the rear panniers, another $1,000. Life is to short not get what you want.
