73 liter lid question

Just picked up a good deal on a set of the 73 liter lids and I had a few questions for anyone who has done the swap:

1) Any issues or hints about pulling the hinge pins? On my BMW, I had to drill out the old pin, then replace it with a long, thin bolt and nut.
2) Did you swap the extra pannier latches between the lids? Or would it be worth it to get a second set?

Just drive the pins in the outboard direction with a drift. Use a little blue loctite on the knurled sections when you re_insert.

Get the extra latches. Adjusting the tension is a PITA to do more.than once.

Can't help with your second question.

Re: your first concern on "pulling the hinge pins": my memory on this is that you will need to make some kind of adjustment if your intent is to swap lid sizes back and forth. Notice that you might damage the plastic hinges in the process. It seems that Ducati was thinking that you would only do this once or twice.

I don't think that Ducati Design gave too much thought to owners who wanted to jump back and forth between lid sizes.

I'm sure other members have this figured out.
