MTS12 Tank Spreading in Colorado?
Seems that plastic tank spreading is attributable to ethanol tainted fuel and humidity. Being a pretty dry climate, I'm wondering if my fellow Colorado Multi riders are having these issues? Along that vein, I'd be interested to know if spreading seems to be geographically centered.
Is there a trend here?

Where did you get the idea moisture had anything to do with it?
I live in a very moist area with everything having ethanol and I haven't heard of a local tank expansion issue.

I got he was asking to see if there was a trend based on a bunch of assumptions as those assumptions were statements and not questions.
Perhaps it was just a quickly written post which was confusing.

I apologize if I wasn't clear. I thought it was this forum, or perhaps the Sport Classic forum where it was popularly accepted that the ethanol has a way to promote or harbor or turn into moisture (i are just a pylot). I'm certain that I read somewhere within DucatiMs. Anybody able to back me up? I not, I'll crawl back into my hole and behave

Maybe not in this forum, as the 1200's tanks don't seem to be expanding--yet. But you are correct that ethanol and moisture have been blamed in other multi/monster/SC forums. Theories include the ethanol itself reacting with and expanding the tank plastic, to the ethanol precipitating moisture out, which the tank plastic absorbs like a sponge.
So you can stay out of your hole for a while...

Err. . . Where have you been? The MTS 1200 tanks definately have been expanding. There are a few threads on the subject.

I think the question marks he used gave me that hint. Perhaps you read it too quickly and were a bit judgmental.
