Very nice. How much do you have invested. I want one bad.
What is your experience with the laser shifter. I've been looking at the Cheetah

Laser Jammers for motorcycles that provide Wireless Helmet Displays for Cheetah M27 and radar detectors

Thanks G Man!

I have about $1,000 USD invested in this unit. Qi45 sell for about $750 and Laser Shifter Pack (optional) is about another $250. Hard to find a deal on Escort / Passport and to be honest, the laser shifter has saved my "behind" a few times now.... Police use laser in my area a lot....Thanks!

Hi. I've been looking at the same system. While I can water proof the main unit everything attaches too via my install location, my concern is the display. Have you had any issues with this getting wet? I would rather not have to stop and take the thing off every time. And also have no desire to short circuit $1000.00 worth of hardware.

Any advice on your experiences so far would be grateful.

Dave...

Wink Radar Detector/Laser Shifter

Have been a fan of Esort for as long as they've been out.

Have had them on all my bikes to date and have though seriously about putting one on the MS 1200 but have not had it long enough to work out the details.

This is really exciting but would like to know more about the deconstruciton required, where to tap into "keyed" power, weatherproofing, and display and especially the display giving off a very, very visual and audible alert in time to avoid a high speed driving permit.

Don't have a wireless headset in the helmet but if I would go this detector/laser shifter route, I would like to have that option. Not a fan of headsets used for phone or music applications, as GPS and LEO alerts would be my primary motivating factors.

Sure would like some more information on installation, power tap in, etc. This has got my juices flowing and I'd put this higher on the priority list than the full Termi system. Would prefer to avoid run ins with the law with my stock configuration than to sound good while I'm being cuffed.

Any and all additional information would be greatly be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sorry all for the delay in responding, just got back from business travel.
With regards to the install, I have had no issues with the display unit and moisture at all. This is the second bike I have had this unit on and with both bikes I've had no issues with moisture. I will admit that I have not been in any "downpours" for an extended period of time, nor has the bike been left outside during a downpour either. I have however been caught in rain but the location keeps the display quite dry.

With regards to getting power, I used the factory GPS plug to and used it as the "accessory" trigger lead to trigger a relay which gets power from the battery. The relay powers a few other accessories such as touratech fog lights and cigaret plug adapter to charge my iPhone. But the trick is to use the factory GPS lead to trigger a relay and the relay powers all the accessories - causing no can-bus issues for me. You can also use the 12V power sockets under the seat to trigger the relay as well... just make certain you fuse the relay.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions....
