Is the Pikes Peak still a limited edition...?
I have heard conflicting stories on this... Including from my dealer.
Are there still only 250 PP's being made for the entire 2012 model year run? Or, with the removal of the "S" line from the lineup(S Touring only), are they making more?

The PP designation could wind up being like the Ford LTD, Ducati might limit the production to the number the market will consume.

Hhmm... Thanks Duccer, it's quite possible thatI missed the answer in that thread that you were referring to. (i am #132)...but Still didnt answer my question.
My question is...since the PIkes Peaks were really produced in mid 2011(all 256), will the Pikes Peak version "become" the S model for the rest of the 2012 run...and maybe beyond. (possibly as a "Corse" version)... Since there is no more "S" model.
Hope that clarifies.

^ yes. I believe that to be the case. No more S Sport (carbon bits) and the PP/Corsa will take its place (I don't know if it t will be numbered any longer).

I'm starting to wonder if that really IS the case.
Ducati Multistrada 1200 Sport, 1200 Touring, 1200
Looking at the above link, Ducati still lists the Sport model on their marketing site. They also still list the PP. To be honest, my guess is that the sport IS still available and that the PP may still be listed due to existing inventory. But then again, it could be the either way around.
This link "may" still be referring to the 2011 bikes, but then again it clearly shows the touring models as being available in the titanium color, so it "appears" to be referring to the newer models...
Notice that they are still calling it the PP, and not just a "Corse" edition, as they are with the 848. So that would suggest that it still comes with the CF shorty windscreen etc, and is a true Pikes Peak. All of the early rumours that I had heard suggested that the Corse "colors", were becoming a standard option and that that was the only color the "Sport" would be offered in. BUt looking at the attached link, even that doesn't appear to be the case.
Also, just for clarity, there is no talk of discontinuing the "S" models, which are the models with Ohlin suspension equipped with DES.
The question seems to be whether or not they are eliminating the "sport" models, other than the PP. I guess time will tell.
Cheers.

Ducatiowner...wow, your right! Although I swear for the last 2 weeks, Ducati's site did NOT show just the "S" version..just the base, S Touring, and PP? (which was the whole basis for my post and question). But it certainly does now... Interesting.
Edit: maybe differences in the various Ducati web sites, but I just checked the Ducati USA site, and still doesnt show the "S" model. The mystery continues...

I heard you can get the pikes peak model in Europe not sure if this is 100% true, but if so it's not much of a limited edition bike. I'm certain Ducati will sell as many as they can push out the door.

Yesterday I ordered a PP, so in Europa you can buy the PP also in 2012 and this version isn't limited anymore.
The Touring S version is available in the colors red, white en titanium, the Sport S is red and the 1200 ABS is red or white.
