oil changing on the multistrada

Hi folks,

When I picked up the multistrada I thought the oil was looking a bit dark, so I asked them to change it before I picked it up.

The oil was changed again at 12000km along with the oil filter. That was 3 months ago.

I now have 17000km on the clock and would like to change the oil again as it gets to 18000, the oil filter will stay as is.

I had a look at the sump and there seems to be a sump drain plug which is accessed through the bash plate.

My questions are. Will I need to remove the centre stand to drain the oil out?How easy is the oil filter accessed? and what sort of oil do you guys use? I was thinking semi synthetic.

Cheers

OZ

You can drain the oil w/o removing the bash plate but it'll get some oil on it...too messy for me. Not a big deal to R+R the centerstand...goofy design as it is.

Had a "never happened before" moment in changing my oil the other day. Reinstalling the new filter and it wouldn't seat and thread up...wtf? Turns out the the rubber gasket from the old filter came off and stuck up against its seat. Didn't notice that the gasket came off when I trashed the old filter...duh!
