Heated grips
Edited; I found these:
Ducati SKU code #69922292A
Anyone know pricing and/or if they'll work with the 620? It's not a model listed as "fits on" on Ducati's website. I'd prefer to stick with Ducati-brand stuff if it means not having a fight down the road if anything should come up under the warranty...
I miss my Beemer's (factory) heated grips. Don't see Ducati grips anywhere, so that leaves the aftermarket. Have heard good things about Dual Star, assuming they're properly installed. True? Any issues with Ducati and the warranty, with such grips installed? Once I'm past the break-in period I'm taking the bike out through the Sequoias with some friends, and would like my hands to be as toasty as possible, but not if I'm going to run into any issues down the road should anything happen. (I mean, obviously if the installation is botched and shorts the electrical system, I don't expect Ducati to be on the hook for any resulting repair work, but more generally...)
Thanks!
In a similar vein, what about adding an accessory outlet to power a heated vest, ValentineOne, etc.?

unless you install something wrong and fry the wiring, installing a dual star system cannot void your warranty. thats the law. it's way cheaper to boot

Don't suppose you have a cite for that? First I've heard, and I'd like to read more. Thanks!
As for frying the wiring... I'd probably use something like this:
Ducati SKU code #967138AAA to connect in cleanly. As for cheaper, if it's a $100 difference (IIRC, my Beemer grips were $129, and that included a replacement handlebar), I'd pay it just for the peace of mind / seamless integration, but, I don't even see Ducati-sourced heated grips as an available option for the MiniStrada, just its big brothers: Fits On page, Ducati Heated Grips

same law as changing your own oil or putting aftermarket rims on your car. tslk to your dealer. even the losal Sacto dealer recomended Dual Star to me.
but if it makes you feel better, go with DP I think you will find the bars are the same size

magnusson moss warranty act, a federal law that says that a manuf needs to prove that your actions or mods caused a problem in order to validly deny a warranty claim. However, in the real world, all a manuf has to do is claim that your actions were the cause of a problem, deny the claim and then you must initiate a claim through arbitration or litigation and establish that they are wrong. It is not as easy as people think to successully challenge a manuf on a warranty denial.

It's not the bars / grips I'm worried about (though between the 1000DS and my 620, the part numbers are different; e.g., 360.1.047.2A for the 1000's handlebar, 360.1.067.1A for the 620). I don't think the 620 has the wiring harnesses to receive the 1000's heated grips.

I'm a baby attorney, so that actually sounds like it would be interesting. But ultimately something I'd rather not mess with, if I can get an OEM solution. I'll ask about it next time I'm up at ProItalia, unless anyone here knows for sure (re: wiring, fitment)?
Thanks all!
