It's official...Monster 796 for 2010
http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/news...ti-monster-796
Ducati just dropped this bomb...not even officially announced yet, but photos up on ducati.com and their YouTube channel has the video.
Same motor as the HM 796, and it's set to be the middle child in the Monster line-up, in-between the 696 and 1100. I'm waiting for DNA to wake up and get me pricing info here in the States, but you can extrapolate pretty well from the 8999 euro price tag if you know your EU pricing on the 696 & 1100

Personally, I wish they'd can the Street Fighter and bring back the S4RS, the only "real" Monster!

Not sure a 796 and a 696 tgether are a good sales lineup. Somethng like
small: 696 (or 796)
big air-cooled; 1100
real Monster: S4Rs (I'm a real big fan of this one).

Then I expect the 696 will be gone. No reason to offer both engine options.

The 696 will remain.
696 = dual sided swingarm, low seat height
796 = single sided swingarm, same height as 1100
1100 = TORQUE!

Pretty bike. I like the single-sided swingarm.
Do you think the increase in power and torque over the 696 (7 HP and 7 lb-ft, I think) will be noticeable?
I just got a 696 -- no regrets!

Nice of them to black out the rearsets. Something I'll have to wait to do until the bike is put up for the winter.

I just, for some reason, cannot get myself to like the new monster's big fat exhaust :/. It just looks odd to me.. Just my preference.
