696 maintenance

is it safe to say, from the looks of it, that the belt can only be adjusted by dropping the whole engine down? Kinda poor design if you ask me, because thats just more work for dealership and more money to charge

Otherwise, I love this bike, the looks, feel, plenty of real world power especially with a 14t sprocket change.

Did you do the 14T sprocket or have it done?

Had it done, I don't have access to the tools and space needed to work on it.
Took just under half an hour for the dealer to do, and was well worth it

Got it.

Has anyone done this? Am I crazy to try and undertake this?

really easy, all you need is a couple of allen wrenches and a 10mm wrench (i think)

Loosen 1 side of your axel,(pref left)
loosen your chain
remove cover plate from sprocket
remove bolts from sprocket
remove clip from splines
remove clutch boss (it is a sealed system you wont need to bleed it later)

If you dont have a rear stand you will need a second set of hands

Loosen the 2 lower bolts from your clipon and you should be able to slide the sprocket off and the new on and repeat to put it back on. You should be able to do it
