Headlight Fairings - Yay or Nay?
I was recently cleaning out my garage and found the old box of parts I received from the previous owner of my bike. Most of it was trashed, including the seat cowl...but the headlight fairing is in pretty good shape. The windshield is OK...it's got some scratches, paint, etc...but it's all in one piece with no breaks. I think I prefer the look of it without the fairing (2007 S2R 800), but I may put it on this weekend just for a change of pace.
So what does everyone else think? Fairing, no fairing, or indifferent?

The majority of the sr series I see sport no fairing. The old school classic monster look. btw i HATE the new pendant style headlight. The fairing is a fairly quick change over, why not keep it and change your bike up occasionally.

Yea, I think I'll probably switch it out every now and then. The previous owner didn't provide the screws, etc...but it looks like I just need to pick up a few and I should be good to go. Any word on how much the fairings on this particular model affect wind resistance?

If anything the mini fairing creates wind buffeting which sucks. helps knock the bugs down though. It shakes like hell at high speed so I know it's not doing much.

I installed carbom fibre struts to stop the shaking - and mine actually reduces buffeting.

i've tried with and without. it provides a small amount of protection from the wind and keeps bug splats out of hard to reach places.
i like the look of the bike without it though.
