2003 Monster 620, worth it?

The only bike i can find within my price range is a 2003 620 monster. He's asking $3,500, he told me the price was firm. He says he bought it for $3,500 and spent like $1,000 on it with servicing, tires and the short tail.

12,000 miles
Brand new back tire, chain and sprockets
Recent oil and plugs change.
Short tail with integrated lights
Minor dents on the tank.

What do you all think? The bike looks like it's in awesome condition. He says its mechanically in perfect condition. I'm going to take it for a test drive this weekend.

Make sure it has had the service done to it , Belts etc, Get A mechanic to make sure all is OK befor you buy...
If it is Ok the seller should not be scared for it to be gone over by someone who knows ...(A third Party)

10 years old, You want it to be in good working order, steering brakes clutch etc etc.
Do the fluids look clean?

Thnx for your quick response Scott! Hmm i didnt even think of asking for the receipts of the service.

How much do you think a mechanic would charge to take a look at the bike?

I have a 620 Multistrada and always enjoy riding it. If it is in really good condition I don't think the price is way out of line. A little high at $3500 but not horrible.

If you have the money and keen offer him the 3k if he says no tell him no worrys then walk away if he is serious about selling he isnt going to let $500 stand in the way

if he doesnt look for another bike there is alot around wait abit longer you find something

Doesnt sound like an exceptional deal, especially if it needs belts and valves.
