No Mufflers!
yep I took the mufflers off, the stock ones sounded okay, plus I found an exhaust leak. I took them off to see the insides and all. and turned the keys. Man it sounds better now. I know I lost a bit of low-end power, but who needs that when u can just downshift and open that throttle? It seems to work alot less harder now so I figure it may help save some gas.
My question is, I've heard of mapping, tuning, adjustments, etc etc. Does the monster need that with the muffler and midsection pipes off?
Its an 07S2R1K btw
stay tuned for my Black/white stripe turned into Corse colors paint!

short answer = yes, did the same thing while I was waiting for a Quat D from europe. You're most likely running VERY lean.... Tune should cost you 150-225 or so, well worth it if you plan to run w/o cans for any substantial period of time....

yeah after driving it around and hearing some backfire I decided to just put the mufflers back on and drill 8 1/4" holes in each one. cause I'm going on a long drive tomorrow and I wouldnt want anything happening to it without some tuneup. By the way, is that kit a one time use only for one type of muffler or is it universal

the Quat D mufflers I assume is what you're asking about? When i purchased it years ago I believe it was for specific to S2R, maybe even 800, don't quite remember..

no i was asking if the mapping/tuning kit was universal for different muffler applications on an one specific bike.
